Living Word/Maranatha Christian Academy is Hiring an Advancement Director Near Brooklyn, MN

Summary

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. We are an influential school of collaborators, innovators, and explorers grounded in Christian faith empowering co-creators of tomorrow.

MCA has an opening for an Advancement Director who will work with a collaborative team and is responsible for strategic oversight, building, planning, and implementing major fundraising programs for donors and alumni and create alumni engagement initiatives designed to foster lifelong connections between alumni and Maranatha Christian Academy.

Essential Duties

  • Provide strategic oversight and overall leadership, and set the direction for alumni engagement and inclusion, including long-term planning.
    • Launches the Alumni Engagement Program at MCA by reaching out to alumni, gathering contact information, and encouraging alumni to re-engage with the school.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate annual alumni engagement initiatives collaboratively with the development director, Parent Council, and chief advancement officer, coordinating with athletics, admissions, and other MCA departments to build affinity, stimulate engagement and grow support of the school.
    • Coordinates with advancement colleagues and campus partners to provide infrastructure, support, and guidance for alumni groups.
  • Serves as staff liaison to MCA’s alumni groups by organizing meetings and conference calls, activities, events, and logistics.
  • Responsible for the designing, planning, and coordination of vibrant Alumni Gatherings.
  • Support the development of a “Young Alumni” program and other programming designed to engage recent graduates from MCA.
  • In coordination with the advancement department, implements a cohesive communication plan with alumni.
  • Work with the development director to fully integrate all alumni engagement, annual giving, and on efforts with development.
  • Identify and research annual gift prospects, communicating regularly with the development director and the head of school to ensure coordination and knowledge of key donors and prospects.
  • In coordination with the development director, inform recognition, reporting, and stewardship strategy that assists in developing a robust annual base of support for the school and creates a pipeline for major gifts.
  • Work with the advancement team providing support for school-related events (some evenings required).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the head of school or chief venture strategist.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will be supervising the development director and donor relations manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with experience in fundraising, business or program development, and recruitment plus three to five years of previous experience.
